MCP integration

Travel orders in your AI assistant

Ask Claude or ChatGPT what you drove

eDriver MCP is a server for the open Model Context Protocol standard that gives AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT secure access to your travel orders: kilometre totals, trips by date, vehicles, team statistics and draft trips. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.0, access is read-only and can be revoked at any time.

What is MCP

An open standard that gives your AI assistant your data

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to real systems. The eDriver MCP server exposes your travel orders as a secure, permissioned set of tools.

  • Ask in plain words

No exports, no filters. The assistant picks the right tool, period and vehicle by itself.

  • Your organization only

You sign in with your eDriver account. The assistant sees only the trips, vehicles and people of your organization, under the same rules as the app.

  • Straight from eDriver

Trips, kilometres, per diems, receipts and statistics come from the same data as the dashboard, no manual maths.

What your AI can do

Access is read-only by design. The only thing the assistant can create is a draft trip that you confirm.

  • Read

Trips by date, one trip with per diems and expenses, kilometre and mileage totals, vehicles with the latest odometer, users and yearly organization statistics — the same numbers as in the app and the dashboard.

  • Draft

Looks up an address and creates a prepared trip for tomorrow’s meeting. A draft never touches a trip in progress; you activate it in the app.

    find_locationcreate_draft_trip

  • Never

Does not edit or delete trips, vehicles or users, does not export or send anything. That stays in the app and the dashboard.

Example prompts

  • “How many km did I drive this month?”

Trip and mileage totals for any period.

    trip_summary
  • “Show my trips from last week with their purposes.”

Trips with route, time and purpose, newest first.

    list_trips
  • “What was on the 12 Sep trip to Maribor: per diem, parking?”

One trip in detail: stops, per diems, expenses.

    get_trip
  • “Which vehicle has the most kilometres?”

Vehicles with plate, owner and latest odometer.

    list_vehicles
  • “Who on the team drove the most in September?”

Yearly organization statistics by month and user (organization owner).

    organization_stats
  • “Tomorrow at 9 from the office to Bled, prepare the trip.”

Finds the address and creates a draft trip you confirm in the app.

    find_location → create_draft_trip
  • “Write a summary for my accountant for August.”

The assistant writes the text from totals and trips; Excel export stays in the dashboard.

    trip_summary + list_trips
  • “Who am I and what can I read?”

Your account, organization, subscription and access scope.

Recommended

A – Claude.ai and ChatGPT (OAuth)

In your AI client’s settings add eDriver as a connector and sign in with your eDriver account.

  1. Claude.ai: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector; enter the server URL and the client ID.
  2. ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors (developer mode) → Create; enter the server URL, OAuth sign-in.
  3. Sign in with your eDriver e-mail and password and approve access.
  4. Ask: “How many km did I drive this month?”

B – Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor

Same server, same OAuth. Claude Code adds it with one command; desktop clients that only speak stdio use the mcp-remote bridge.

}

mcp-remote opens the browser for the OAuth sign-in on first start; no token to paste.

Security and privacy

The same access as in the app, nothing more

  • OAuth 2.0 through your eDriver account

Sign-in happens on the eDriver login server (Keycloak). You never type your password into an AI client.

  • Roles from the app

An employee sees their own trips, an organization owner all trips and the organization statistics. Same rules as the dashboard.

  • Read-only

Tools read. The only write is a draft trip that you confirm in the app.

  • Revoke any time

Remove the client’s access in your eDriver account (Applications) and the connection stops working at once.

  • Encrypted transport

All traffic between the AI client and the server goes over HTTPS.

  • Rate limits

A per-user request limit guards against runaway automation; normal conversation has plenty of room.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI assistants work with eDriver MCP?

Any that support MCP over HTTP with OAuth: Claude (web, desktop, Claude Code), ChatGPT (connectors), Cursor and similar. Google Gemini will work once it supports MCP connections.

Can the AI break something in my travel orders?

No. Access is read-only. The only thing it can create is a draft trip, which is not active until you confirm it in the app. Deleting and editing through MCP are not possible.

Does the AI see other companies’ data?

No. You sign in with your own account and the assistant sees only your organization, with the same roles as in the app.

What does it cost?

MCP is currently included in the subscription at no extra charge. If it is ever limited to paid plans you will be told in advance.

What happens to my questions?

Your AI provider processes the questions under its own terms. The eDriver server only receives the tool calls (for example the period for a total) and returns data; we do not store conversations.

Where do I revoke access?

In your eDriver account under Applications, or remove the connector in the AI client’s settings. Either stops access immediately.
